Draft: The Idle Life of a Saint

I’m Noah Kaplan, a low-ranking priest and teacher at a provincial temple’s training center. I’m a controller with a tiny, insignificant ability that helps people sleep, reduces anger, and puts their minds at ease.

Oh, and my dream is to quit being a priest after meeting a nice person and live a sweet, cozy life together!

Then one day, the temple announces that the sealed Demon Dragon is about to awaken, so they begin assembling a subjugation force. They summon every controller in the Empire and even make us recite a strange prayer: “Ta-da!”

So I only pretended to do it, but…

“Ha ha ha.”

Somehow, I was the only one who managed to manifest divine power, even though no one else could.

And just like that, I became a Saint.

Now I’m supposed to hunt dragons, find happiness, and even find love alongside Cardinal Gabriel Schliemann, the strongest controller in the Empire…
