Garden in the Deep Sea

Synopsis

“Could you steal the blueprints for me?”

Jeongwon’s hand trembled for a moment as she lifted her coffee cup. Forcing the corners of her lips upward, she smiled.

“What did you just say?”

“I’m asking you to rejoin Haesin, create the blueprints, and bring them to me.”

“I’m in the middle of a job interview right now. I’m not here to receive an offer to become a thief.”

She had thought that perhaps the heavens hadn’t completely abandoned her yet when such a good job opportunity came her way.

But what on earth was this man talking about?

“Your older sister is very sick, isn’t she? If you don’t find a job soon, you’re going to have a lot of trouble covering her hospital bills and the cost of her transplant surgery.”

Using her sister as leverage—this was such an outdated way of thinking.

And on top of that, he wanted her to work for that company again.

Not only that, he was asking her to steal blueprints?

Jeongwon stood up, making it clear that she intended to refuse.

But at the words that followed, she had no choice but to sit back down.

“Do you really think your father, Min Taesan, died in nothing more than an accident?”

“What…?”

“I’m giving you an opportunity, Min Jeongwon. An opportunity to expose Haesin Heavy Industries’ ugly side and make them stagger within the industry. An opportunity to get your revenge.”

“Nice to meet you. My name is Min Jeongwon.”

“May I ask you one thing?”

Like white snowflakes falling in the dead of winter, the low voice of Taekyung, the chairman of Haesin Group, settled coldly over the reception room.

“What made you decide to return to Haesin?”

“…Pardon?”

“I’m asking what purpose you had in accepting my offer. Why did you agree to it?”

Why?

“Because I heard Haesin would pay me the most.”

To save her sister.

And to clear her father’s name.

She would do anything for her family.

Even if it meant deceiving the man standing before her and walking down a thorny path, she had no intention of stopping.

But the moment she met Taekyung’s black eyes, deep and dark like the ocean, Jeongwon realized something.

Perhaps she had already fallen into the deep sea.

No matter how hard she swam, escaping from that place would be nearly impossible.
