The returning husband refuses to divorce.
His wife was dead.
Jekard Evanhart couldn’t bring himself to believe it.
Desperate to save his wife, he prayed to God for a miracle and regressed back in time. But the price he had to pay was Ines losing all the love she once had for him.
After returning to the past, Ines decides to put an end to the life she had spent as nothing more than a duchess in name.
Although she has nowhere to go, having been cast out of the temple because her divine power is woefully inferior to that of her younger sister, Elise.
‘As soon as he arrives, I’ll tell him I want a divorce.’
And so, Ines proposes a divorce.
But Jekard refuses.
Instead, he begins treating her with even greater tenderness…
“I sincerely apologize for leaving my wife lonely for so long. From now on, I intend to fulfill my duties as your husband.”

“Are you, by any chance, making a complaint against me?”
“Pardon?”
Ines had been relieved, fully expecting a positive answer, so she was caught completely off guard.
But Jekard gritted his teeth as though struggling to suppress his anger and said,
“I asked whether you brought up divorce on purpose—not because you genuinely want one, but because you were protesting the filthy rumors about me and the Saintess.”
“…What? No.”
Startled by his menacing expression, Ines hurriedly tried to defend herself.
“Of course not. How could I possibly do that? I’m only a fake wife, after all.”
Why was he angry?
Ines was bewildered.
“I meant everything I said. I sincerely wish you and Elise a happy future together. That’s why I prepared the divorce papers beforehand.”
Jekard silently glared at the divorce papers in his hand. He was gripping them so tightly that the paper had become badly crumpled.
“Ah. So, basically, you don’t care who I live with, as long as it’s not you?”
“…That isn’t exactly what I meant, but if you put it that way, I suppose that’s the conclusion.”
Jekard let out a hollow laugh, as if he couldn’t believe what he was hearing.
“Hah.”
Then he raised his head and looked at Ines.
His eyes were filled with a deep sense of injustice and resentment.
…Why?
